A Tango Gathering on The Dance Floor

A curated celebration of Argentine tango as a living art form. Conceived and directed by Anna Alvarez and Pablo Cortazzo, Artistic Directors of Tango Sur, this takeover brings the stage and the social floor together for an afternoon built around live performance, choreography and culture with artists from across the tango world, an excerpt of the new dance-theatre work “Kueyen”, and the craft of tango laid bare on stage.

At its heart are the performances. Couples from the tango community share the stage, and Anna Alvarez Compañía presents an excerpt of “Kueyen”, a new dance-theatre work that integrates tango with contemporary dance. Around this artistic core, the day also opens its doors with hands-on workshops and an open social floor so audiences can move from watching to dancing.
